An official application has been submitted for the construction of 340 flats and studio apartments on the land surrounding Wembley Stadium, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0EG, by the client Quintain Estates & Development Plc. The application has been awarded the subcontract for the development finance, but it is still pending a detailed approval.
Engineers way project
Commencement of the project will happen in late March 2017, and the project will finish the development in late March 2020. 340 flats comprising studio and one, two and three-bedroom leisure flats will be constructed in a period of 36 months. The structure will rise as high as 14 storeys, and 2 storeys will also be developed below the ground level. 272 parking spaces will be made available for the residents of the flats. Upon completion, the project will spread over a floor and site area of 57234 square meters and 29.1384 Ha respectively. The gross retail floor space will be 1879 square meters.
Michael Hellier of Flanagan Lawrence has been assigned the role of the lead architect for the development of the project, and he will be accompanied by Paula Carney of WYG, who will act as the primary planner. Fabrik Limited and Tower Eight will be the primary landscape architecture firm and Quantity Surveyor respectively, while Platform 5 Architects will join the project as the lead interior design firm. Buro Happold and WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff (Head Office) will offer their consultancy services for Structural engineering and Transport.
The primary contractor for the entire development is McLaren Construction Limited. Box & Charnock Limited has won several subcontracts including fire protection, heating & ventilation, mechanical and electrical engineering, plumbing and security services.
JRL Environmental Limited has been awarded the subcontracts for the development of civil, floors, frame, groundworks, stairs and external walls. The subcontracts for ceiling finishing and wall finishing have been acquired by TJ Lott Limited, while the interior fitting out subcontract has been allotted to Walker Modular.
