Heartiest congratulations to Radisson Edwardian Hotels Limited Head Office for gaining planning for the development of a hotel and residential units at the site Leicester Square, Panton Street, Whitcomb Street, Orange Street, Martin Street, Westminster, London, WC2H 7DT. This will be a privately funded brownfield site project, which will involve the demolition of the existing infrastructure before the construction of a new one.
The client will begin the project in March 2017, and the entire development will be finished in a period of 60 months, in March 2022. Upon its completion, the project will cover a floor and site area of 30123 square meters and 2100 square meters respectively. The project will cost £150,000,000 due to the high-cost development finance will be used by REH LTD.
The newly constructed structures for the redevelopment will rise up to 10 storeys high, while 5 storeys will be developed below the ground level. The structures will offer a total of 33 residential units for the residents. A two screen cinema and a hotel with 350 beds will also be featured in this development. Props to the client for securing an “Excellent” from BREEAM Rating.
The primary architecture firm for the project will be Woods Bagot. JLL will join the project as the lead planning consultants. The primary landscape architect for the development will be Tavernor Consultancy. JLL has been chosen to serve as the lead quantity surveyor.
Arup will offer their consultancy services in the fields of Mech & Elec engineering, structural engineering and sustainability. The project management group includes three major clients. JLL has been appointed as the project manager of the project. They will be assisted by Blue Sky Building and Arup, which will act as the lead management contractor and CDM Coordinator respectively.
McGee Group Limited has won the highest number of subcontracts, including demolition, foundations, groundworks, and swimming pools. GIG Facades Limited and Barr & Wray Limited have won the external walls subcontract and swimming pools subcontract respectively.
